None of these things can save you! You can do nothing to earn eternal life. It is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone that can save you.

"And by Him (the Lord Jesus Christ) all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses" (Acts 13:39).

The way to have eternal life is not found in what we do ourselves, but by having a perfect righteousness given to us. We receive this when we believe the Lord Jesus Christ took our sins on Himself and paid for them by His death on the cross.

"For He (God) hath made Him (the Lord Jesus Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:21).

You do not receive eternal life by working for it or by trying to make yourself behave. You receive eternal life by believing the record God gave of His Son. Remember, if you disagree with these statements you are calling God a liar. "... He that believeth not God hath made Him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of His Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son" (1 John 5:10-11).

God, in His sovereignty, permits man's destiny to depend upon man's choice.

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God" (John 3:18).

AFTER you are saved, yeilding to God brings love, joy, peace, and happiness into your life (Romans 6:16; Galatians 5:22-23).

When we disobey God, He will punish us, but our punishment will never be hell. God deals with with as a father deals with his son after we are saved (Proverbs 3:11-12; 1 Corinthians 11:32; Hebrews 12:6).

God will never cast us out or lose us. "... Him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out ... all which He hath given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day (John 6:37, 39; 10:28).

Doesn't it make sense to believe on the One who came back from the dead and trust Him for the payment of your sins? Why not do it now and you can be sure of going to heaven when you die. He loves you! Right now, why not accept the payment He has made for your sins and you can KNOW you have eternal life. "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life..." (1 John 5:13).
Christ died... that's history...

Christ died for me! that's SALVATION!

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16).

Friend, if you can sincerely put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, on the authority of God's Word , you can KNOW you have eternal life.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life" (John 6:47).

What is keeping you from trusting the Lord Jesus Christ? There is noting more important than trusting the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. Would you like to be saved right now? Yes. Then here's what you should do:

Tell God that you are trusting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior. You can do it right now through prayer. Prayer is talking to God just like you talk to your friends. Tell God that you know you are a sinner. Tell Him that you know that Christ died for your sins and that He rose from the grave. Tell Him that you are trusting the Lord Jesus Christ alone as your Savior. And then THANK HIM for the forgiveness and everlasting life you now have in the Lord Jesus Christ.

It's not a prayer that saves you. It's trusting the Lord Jesus Christ that save you. The prayer you prayed is just expressing to God what you are doing.
